Calcium Peroxide is a solid peroxygen compound which is very safe and convenient to handle compared to other solid oxidants. When brought in contact with water it breaks into Hydrogen Peroxide and calcium hydroxide. Hydrogen peroxide thus released is utilised for various applications.
